John M. Monahan
John M. Monahan is a principal of M&B, with primary responsibility for the firm’s international tax and international business practices. His practice also includes tax planning, investment funds, general business, and estate planning.
Mr. Monahan has experience working with many enterprises in Canada, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean, and has built a global network of contacts available to assist in developing and structuring international business transactions.
Prior to joining M&B, he served as an international tax specialist for the Northwest region for the accounting firm of Touche Ross & Co, and practiced at the law firm of Carney, Stephenson, Badley, Smith, Mueller & Spellman, P.S., where he was Managing Partner and principal lawyer in charge of the fifty lawyer law firm.
In addition to his law degree, Mr. Monahan was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Laws in Taxation.
Mr. Monahan has taught at local universities, and has presented at many seminars and authored several articles, primarily regarding international taxation and import/export transactions.
Mr. Monahan has been awarded an “AV” rating in Martindale Hubbell by his peers, a rating denoting the highest legal ability and ethical standards.
